Venice Carnival. Just, wow.

From ABC news. The Venice carnival started in the 11th century, but it’s still unbelievably fabulous today.  I’ve been enamored with the breathtakingly beautiful, traditional look of the festival since I first read The Cast of Amontillado and looked it up on the internet.  When I thought of taking Twist to Venice, I knew it simply had to be at carnival.  Since the style of the carnival costumes it timeless, it looked the same in 1878 as it does in 2013.  Enjoy the continuing anachronism, and check out some great photos at the official Venice Carnival site!

(unfortunately, this Venice isn’t flying)
